Our Vision
We strive to gradually end the keeping of bears in Czech castle moats and to improve their living conditions.
Our Mission
We manage bear sanctuaries in several countries and are constantly improving and educating ourselves in the most modern methods of keeping large carnivores such as bears, wolves and lynx.
We work closely with both the managers of the bear castle moats, i.e. the National Monuments Institute, and with academics and specialists such as the Czech Agricultural University or the Institute of Nature Conservation PAN.
We conduct research on the Czech public opinion regarding the keeping of bears in castle moats.
We create an educational campaign for the public about modern methods of keeping bears.
We organize a conference on the topic of current methods of bear keeping, health & welfare and behaviour in captivity.
We inform the public about current bear keeping methods and our advances through conferences, scientific and popular articles, social networks, etc.
For each bear from the Czech castle moat, we have prepared an individualized plan to improve his/ her living conditions. We provide the possibility of moving to, and a place in, specialized bear sanctuaries or other facilities meeting LBE standards, or consultation and the possibility of increasing the living space in the castle moat without the need for building modifications or reconstruction.
We gradually facilitate, consult and implement the transfer of bears from the Czech castle moats.
